(ANGOLA) - The Steuben County Commissioners will again take up the matter of the County's 911 Communications Department during their meeting on Monday morning. The 11:00am agenda item is listed as "review process and progress of E911/Communications". A controversy erupted just over a week ago after Sheriff Tim Troyer issued a statement in which he said that Communications was suffering from a lack of manpower, direction and resources and that it had reached the point it can no longer safely operate. But Commissioners insisted during a special meeting last Monday that there was no crisis and they did not take any formal action on Troyer's request that Communications should be a division of the Sheriffs Office. Troyer is expected to again make that request to Commissioners on Monday. Meanwhile, County officials say Communications Director Cindy Snyder has formally submitted her resignation in writing which is effective next Friday. Commissioners decided last Monday to post the position.
