(ANGOLA) - Steuben County Democrats will have a candidate on the November general election ballot for the District Four seat on the County Council. Elten Powers announced during the Democratic Party's Breakfast meeting on Saturday morning that he was a candidate for the seat which is currently occupied by John Ingledue who is not running for reelection. The District Four seat covers Steuben, Otsego, Richland, York and Scott Townships. In a written statement, Powers said he debated about running but he decided he couldn't stay out because of the challenges faced by the county. He was recently appointed by Steuben County Commissioners to be a member of the Steuben County Aviation Board. During Saturday's breakfast, Powers held up two cans that were connected by a string and said it was the county's new multi-million dollar communications system. Republicans Jeffrey Fee, Will Howard and Justin Stouder are running for the District Four seat. The winner of the May Primary will face Powers in November.
