(FREMONT) - Four people were arrested on methamphetamine related charges late Friday night at a home near Fremont as the Steuben County Sheriffs Department was serving a search warrant. The bust took place just before midnight at a residence in the 6300 East block of State Road 120. The Sheriffs Department stated in a news release that an alleged active meth lab was found as well as several precursors used to make meth. Purported meth and marijuana was also found in the home. 34-year-old Ashley Hanchar of Fremont and 31-year-old Cory Salinas of Angola were both arrested on Class B felonies for manufacturing meth as well as Class D felonies for possession of meth and possession of two or more precursors with the intent to manufacture meth. They were also arrested on a Class A misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia. In addition, 52-year-old Sheryl Rakestraw of Fremont and 58-year-old Samuel Guthrie were both arrested on Class D felonies for possesion of meth and precursors and Class A misdemeanors for possession of paraphernalia. The Sheriffs Department got assistance from the Indiana State Police, Fremont Police, an Indiana Conservation Officer, Michigan State Police, Fremont firefighters and the Steuben County Health Department.
