(CORUNNA) - Two Corunna residents were arrested on numerous charges Saturday night followed a drug bust at a motel on U.S. 6 in Corunna. The DeKalb County Sheriffs Department says officers went there after getting a tip about possible drug activity. They say a pair of alleged meth labs were found along with other items commonly associated with the making of meth. Michael D. Hughes and Sara K. Smith were arrested and taken to the DeKalb County Jail on felony charges of manufacturing meth, possession of meth, possession of precursors, possession of a controlled substance and maintaining a common nuisance. Hughes was also arrested for possession of a synthetic drug and invasion of privacy. The Sheriffs Departments says Hughes was in violation of a protective order against him with Smith being the petitioner. The Waterloo Marshal's Office and the Indiana State Police Meth Suppression Team assisted the Sheriffs Department.
