LAGRANGE - A candidate for LaGrange County sheriff announced his choice for a chief deputy Tuesday.
Republican Jeff Campos chose Corporal Tracy Harker as his pick to replace him as chief deputy if he wins the sheriff race.
Harker became a full-time deputy with the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department in 2000 and holds the rank of corporal the last six years. He is a supervisor on the day shift. He is a field training officer, a rape aggression defense instructor, and a leader on the critical response team.
Campos is in a three-way race in the Republican primary. Sheriff’s Department Deputy Randy Mellinger and LaGrange Town Marshal Rich Snyder are also seeking the nomination for sheriff.
