Home sales off in February

INDIANAPOLIS - Indiana realtors blame bad weather and low inventory for pushing home sales down for a second straight month.
The Indiana Association of Realtors says the number of closed sales around the state in February went down by 13 percent compared to 2013 but the median price increased by 9 1/2 percent to $115,000.
Just ten sales closed in LaGrange County during the month, down three from the previous year. The median sales price of $70,000 was up 4-and-a-half percent.
22 homes in Noble county were sold compared to 27 a year ago. The median price was down 10.3 percent to $79,750.
Elkhart County had 77 homes sell, off 14 percent from a year ago but prices were up nearly 17 percent.
Closed sales in Steuben County increased by three from 29 to 32 while the median price increased slightly to $110,850.
