(CENTREVILLE) – A trial date has been set for the man charged with the murder of a prominent Sturgis businessman.
Officials with St. Joseph County Circuit Court say the trial of Andy Brown is scheduled to start on June 24. That date was set following a status conference which was held Monday afternoon.
Brown is charged in the October 2 shooting death of David Locey, who was found dead in his office by one of his employees. Brown was originally arrested on charges of embezzlement, but those were later dropped by St. Joseph County Prosecutor John McDonough and charges of First Degree Premeditated Murder and Felony Firearms were filed.
The St. Joseph County Major Crimes Task Force has continued to investigate Locey's murder.
