(FORT WAYNE) - The Fort Wayne Journal Gazette reports a Wolcottville man was shot during the fight last Saturday night at a Fort Wayne bar which led to a series of events that ended with the death of a teenage girl in a fatal traffic accident. The newspaper says that according to Allen County court documents that were filed on Monday, Chad Jackson of Wolcottville was shot in the neck after he got into an argument with 35-year-old Jeremy Washington of New Haven at the Corner Pocket Pub on St. Joe Center Road. Washington is accused of speeding away from the bar before he crashed into a vehicle driven by 17-year-old Haley Nellum at the intersection of Stellhorn and Hobson Roads. Nellum died in the accident. Washington is being held on eight preliminary charges as of Tuesday morning. The Journal Gazette reports that according to doctors who removed the bullet from Jackson's neck, it just missed his main arteries.
