(ANGOLA) - Angola Police continue to look for a man who they say robbed the Wells Fargo Bank at 2204 North Wayne Street on Tuesday evening. Police report the robbery took place just before closing time at 6:00pm. Angola Police Detective Tim Crooks says there was no weapon involved.
He says the suspect went up to a teller and asked for a withdrawal. When the teller asked him for his account information, he handed her a note which demanded money. There were about ten employees and two customers in the bank at the time. No injuries were reported. The suspect is described as a five-foot-ten white male in his mid 30's who weighs 160 pounds.
He has facial hair and a mustache. The suspect was last seen wearing a baseball style cap with lettering on it, blue jeans and a dark colored jacket. He drove north from the bank on North Wayne Street in a small bright red compact car. The Steuben County Sheriffs Department, police from Ashley and Fremont along with the F.B.I. are assisting with the investigation.
Crooks says they have video of the suspect being in the Star Financial Bank in Angola about an hour before he went to Wells Fargo but they have been unable to get a good look at the car's license plate number.
Anybody with information on the robbery is asked to call Angola Police at (260) 665-2121 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-600-4258. Information can also be e-mailed to Tcrooks@angolain.org
