(ANGOLA) - A child molesting case is back on the Steuben Superior Court docket after the State of Indiana in late March found the defendant competent to stand trial. 26-year-old David Ellenberger of Mentone is facing a Class A felony charge of Child Molesting in connection with an alleged incident involving a four-year-old boy which authorities say took place in the swimming pool area of Pokagon State Park's Potawatomi Inn back in February of 2013. The alleged victim was said to be from out of state. A insanity defense was filed in the case last May and Superior Court Judge William Fee ordered a pair of mental health evaluations be performed. Ellenberger was ordered released from Logansport State Hospital a couple of weeks ago to the custody of his parents or guardians. He was freed from the Steuben County Jail following his initial hearing after a $100,000 bond was posted. A no contact order was earlier issued by Magistrate Randy Coffey. Ellenberger has pled not guilty to the charge. He appeared in court this past Monday for a pre-trial conference. Another pre-trial conference has been scheduled for July 14th. A three day jury trial is set to start on November 19th.
