(ANGOLA) - Angola Police think the man who robbed the Wells Fargo Bank at 2204 North Wayne Street last Tuesday may have been involved in bank robberies on Wednesday in Perrysburg, Ohio and Monroe, Michigan. Angola Police Detective Tim Crooks says a red compact car was spotted at both locations similar to one that was seen in the area near Wells Fargo Bank on the evening of the Angola robbery. No weapon was involved last week but the suspect handed a note to a teller just before closing time which demanded money.
The suspect was also seen going into the Star Financial Bank about an hour before the robbery. He was described as a five-foot-ten white male in his mid 30's who weighs 160 pounds. He had facial hair and a mustache. The suspect was last seen wearing a baseball style cap with lettering on it, blue jeans and a dark colored jacket. He was last seen driving north from the bank on North Wayne Street. The Steuben County Sheriffs Department, police from Ashley and Fremont along with the F.B.I. are assisting with the investigation.
Anybody with information on the robbery is asked to call Angola Police at (260) 665-2121 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-600-4258. Information can also be e-mailed to Tcrooks@angolain.org
