(LAKE JAMES) - The National Weather Service hosted a cross section of emergency officials, weather meteorologists and media representatives from three states on Thursday during a Integrated Warning Team workshop at Pokagon State Park's Potawatomi Inn. The workshop included discussions on how social media is being used to help get emergency weather information out to the public. Some of the participants during the morning talked about the three emergency levels that are used by the Indiana Department of Homeland Security during winter storms and some of the confusion that has taken place. Those who attended were asked to identify common problems and work on mutually beneficial solutions. Nearly 50 participants from Indiana, Michigan and Ohio signed up for the workshop.
