LAGRANGE – A Topeka woman is heading back to prison after her probation was revoked for testing positive for methamphetamine.
LaGrange County Prosecutor Jeff Wible says Special Judge Kevin Wallace ordered Christy Shaffer to serve six years at the Department of Corrections after terminating her probation on Friday in LaGrange Circuit Court.
Shaffer originally served 77 days of a ten year sentence for neglect following the death of a foster child, 16-month-old Alissa Guernsey.
Her sentence was modified in 2011 to six months of home detention...a move that spawned national media attention and protests.
Shaffer faces another hearing next month on a charge of possession of meth.
