A Westview grad was recently named head baseball coach at Des Moines Area Community College. Nic Mishler has nine-years of coaching experience, with two years as an assistant at Des Moines, and five years as an assistant at Valparaiso University, following two years as a graduate assistant at Grand Canyon University. He says he enjoyed being an assistant but being a head coach is a dream that he didn’t believe it would happen as quickly as it has.

Cubs 5, Cincinnati 2 – Jason Heyward's two-run double gives the Chicago Cubs a 4-0 lead over the Cincinnati Reds. Chicago went on to win 5-2. Addison Russell’s home run gave the Cubs a 2-0 lead after Kris Bryant’s solo homer started the scoring.
Kansas City 7, White Sox 5 Jorge Soler hits a 2-run single to give the Royals a 5-0 lead over the White Sox.
Cleveland 7, Detroit 2 – Francisco Lindor hits a solo HR to give Indians a 4-2 lead over the Tigers.
