A West Noble football player is changing his college football commitment. Brandon Pruitt says after some serious conversations with family and friends he decided the U-S Naval Academy is the best fit for his future. The 6-2 210 pound linebacker and running back was a junior all-state selection. He had a 3.9 GPA. Pruitt says with the decision his recruitment is 100 percent over.

The Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association is out with its all-state teams. In Class 2-A Westview’s Matt Jones was honorable mention. In Class 3-A Garrett’s first baseman Kobe Lucarelli was all-state with Angola’s Aaron Chao, NorthWood’s Matt Dutkowski receiving honorable mentions. Warsaw’s Liam Patton was honorable mention in class 4-A.

MLB:
Cleveland 7, Toronto 3 – Oscar Mercado's solo home run gave the Indians a 7-3 lead against the Blue Jays.
White Sox 9, Miami 1 – Jose Abreu's two-run home run gives the White Sox a 4-1 lead against the Marlins. Chicago would hit 5 homers against the Marlins.
San Francisco 5, Cubs 4 – Joe Panik's go-ahead RBI double in the bottom of the eighth inning gives the Giants a 5-4 lead against the Cubs. San Fransisco would beat Chicago 5-4.
The Tigers open a series at home with Philadelphia tonight.
