MLB:
Cleveland 2, Texas 0 – Jose Ramirez broke the deafening silence in the seventh inning of the Indians’ 2-0 victory in Game 1 of Wednesday’s doubleheader against the Rangers at Progressive Field. The Indians had not scored a run in 15 consecutive innings, dating to the start of the Texas series on Monday, and the Tribe had been held hitless until the fifth frame of Wednesday's twin bill opener.

Cleveland 5, Texas 1 – Jason Kipnis' RBI double gives the Cleveland Indians a 5-1 lead over the Texas Rangers.
White Sox 8 Detroit 1 – Ryan Cordell's home run gives the Chicago White Sox a 2-0 lead over the Detroit Tigers. An 8-1 victory over the Tigers Wednesday at Comerica Park brought the White Sox seven-game road trip to a close with a 5-2 record.
Cubs 10, Oakland 1 – Ian Happ's grand slam gives the Chicago Cubs a 5-1 lead over the Oakland Athletics. The blast backed a strong seven-inning, two-hit effort from José Quintana and helped the National League Central-leading Cubs wrap up a 5-1 homestand.
