Ashya Klopfenstein

Westview High School graduate Ashya Klopfenstein was voted a Women's Basketball Coaches Association Honorable Mention All-American.

The Howe, Indiana native was also named to the Mon-Dak All-Conference Second Team. Klopfenstein averaged 16 points and 8 rebounds in conference at Dawson Community College. She scored a total of 367 points, averaging 1.5 blocks, 3.5 steals, and shooting 56% from the field. In different games throughout the season, she had game highs of 34 points, 19 rebounds, 8 steals and she had three games with 4 blocks. Klopfenstein also recorded 9 double doubles this past season. She led the conference in steals and blocks, and was twice named Conference Player of the Week. Her 19 rebounds in a single game was the second most by a Lady Buccaneer in the history of the program.

The 2020 Parkview Sports Medicine Baseball Series scheduled for April and May at ParkviewField are canceled. Parkview Sports Medicine and the Fort Wayne TinCaps are committed to the series returning in 2021.

John Neidig is the next commissioner of the Indiana High School Athletic Association. Neidig has been an IHSAA assistant commissioner since 2017 and will officially assume the position on August 1st succeeding Bobby Cox. Cox announced his intention to retire this summer in January.
Neidig joined the IHSAA staff July 1, 2017 as an assistant commissioner and has administered the sports of boys and girls cross country, boys basketball, boys and girls track and field, and unified track and field.
