Cubs 6, Pittsburgh 3 - Starlin Castro hit a three-run homer and Chris Coghlan added a solo shot as the Cubs opened a 10-game homestand with their fourth win in five games. Last-place Chicago also improved to 18-13 since May 17 for the best record in the NL in that stretch.
Tigers 6, Cleveland 4 - J.D. Martinez hit a three-run homer, Victor Martinez added a two-run shot and the Detroit Tigers held on for a 6-4 victory.
Minnesota 5, White Sox 4 - Brian Dozier started a superb double play in the top of the ninth inning that snuffed out Chicago's chances of taking the lead and then delivered the game-winning single in the bottom of the frame to lift the Twins to a 5-4 victory Friday night.
