Detroit 8, Texas 2 – Ian Kinsler homered in the first at-bat of his return to Texas as an opponent and the American League Central-leading Detroit Tigers went on to win 8-2 on Tuesday night for their fifth consecutive victory.
Cubs 7, Cincinnati 3 – Jake Arrieta retired his first 18 batters and struck out nine in seven impressive innings, leading Chicago to a 7-3 victory over Cincinnati on Tuesday night.
Fort Wayne 10, Dayton 9 - Fort Wayne trailed by as many as five runs. They committed four errors leading to four unearned runs. They even had two baserunners thrown out between third base and home plate. But somehow, someway, the Tin Caps did win as Dustin Peterson plated Ryan Miller for the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning.
