Detroit 4, Yankees 3 -- David Price gave his new team a chance to win. Later, his catcher delivered the deciding stroke.
Price struck out 10 in his Detroit debut and was long gone when Alex Avila homered in the 12th inning to lift the Tigers to a 4-3 win over the New York Yankees on Tuesday.
Texas 16, White Sox 0 -- The last-place Texas Rangers vented two months' worth of frustration.
Robinson Chirinos homered twice and Colby Lewis pitched a six-hitter to lead Texas to a 16-0 rout of the Chicago White Sox, the largest shutout victory in team history.
Cubs 6, Colorado 5 -- Javier Baez made his major league debut a memorable one for himself and his family. Baez led off the 12th inning with a towering home run, and the Chicago Cubs beat the Colorado Rockies 6-5 on Tuesday night. He struck out in three of his first five at-bats before hitting Boone Logan's first pitch of the 12th an estimated 414 feet into the Rockies' bullpen.
