Westview falls in title game; Weaver wins award

INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Park Tudor played their game on Saturday, and kept Westview off balanace as they beat the Warriors 84-57 in the Class 2A State Championship game.
Chandler Aspy led the Warriors with 19 points while Jordyn Bontrager added 10 points. Westview ends its season at 23-5. The Panthers were led by potential All Stater Trevon Bluiette who had a game high 38 points.
INDIANAPOLIS - Westview High School's Jamar Weaver won the Arthur L. Trester Mental Attitude Award for Class 2A Boys Basketball following the state championship game against Indianapolis Park Tudor on Saturday.
The award is presented to a senior participant in the state finals who best demonstrates mental attitude, scholarship, leadership and athletic ability.
Weaver ranks 17th in his senior class. He has been a National Honor Society member. Weaver also belongs to the Spanish Club and is scheduled to be a part of a mission trip this summer with the New Life Fellowship.
Besides basketball, he has also played baseball and tennis at Westview.
He is the son of Mervin and Wanita Weaver of Shipshewana and plans to study Business/Management while playing baseball at Huntington University next fall.
