LaGrange County Commissioners approve purchases

LAGRANGE – The LaGrange County Commissioners approved three purchases on Monday.

The most expensive was a new skid loader and trailer for the highway department. The skid loader and asphalt milling attachment from Stutzman Power Equipment of Shipshewana came in at $74,227. The trailer from Freedom Trailers of Bristol is $9,300.

I-T Director Bob Murphy got permission to purchase a new security locking system for the stairways and elevator in the county office building. The updated software will cost $8,917 and allow the stairways and elevator on the first floor to be locked down when evening meetings take place on the first floor. Money for the purchase will come from the county’s economic development income tax fund.

County Surveyor Zach Holsinger received permission to purchase a Haulmark enclosed trailer at a cost of $4,195. Funds will come from the surveyor’s section corner perpetuation fund.
