Details of Friday's fatal pedestrian crash released

KIMMEL – The Noble County Sheriff’s Office on Monday released details of a fatal crash involving a pedestrian that happened Friday night.

It happened at 9:31 p-m on US 33 south of Albion Road near Kimmel.

The victim – 31-year-old Daktoa Fisher of North Webster – was walking north on the right shoulder of U-S 33 when he was struck by a northbound GMC Envoy. Fisher died at the scene.

The driver – 42-year-old Jose Juan Medina Espinoza of Elkhart – was driving around the curve when he struck Fisher.

Blood tests revealed no drugs or alcohol in Espinoza at the time.

Toxicology results on Fisher are pending.

Ligonier and Indiana State Police assisted Noble County deputies at the scene.
