(COLDWATER) – Charges have been filed against a Coldwater man for a break in to a Coldwater dentist office.

Branch County District Court officials say 29 year old Johnathine Handshoe has been charged with a felony count of breaking and entering. If convicted he will be given a second time habitual offender sentencing enhancer.

In addition, Handshoe is charged with possession of methamphetamine and for being a disorderly person. There is also a warrant for his arrest out of Calhoun County.

The Coldwater Police Department conduct an investigation into the break in, which happened on January 21 at the Smile Avenue Family and Cosmetic Dentistry office. Investigators say Handshoe broke in and ransacked the office. He also allegedly took several items, including a Detroit Tigers hat; a 1968 World Series baseball; a Tigers program; candy bars, a fanny pack; a necklace and other office items.

Police say a surveillance video was obtained that showed Handshoe going into the building with a plastic bag. He was also seen leaving with the same bag, but it was larger.

Coldwater Police arrested him a few days later at a gas station.

Handshoe's bond is set at $35,500. He will have a probable cause hearing on March 11 and a preliminary examination on March 16.
