(ANGOLA) – A man taken to the hospital with a cut to his head is facing a charge of invasion of privacy.

The Steuben County Sheriff's Department says Cameron Hospital contacted the Angola Police Tuesday morning, saying a man, identified as 38 year old Joshua Wicker was in the emergency room. Wicker told authorities that he had been hit in the head with a machete and appeared to have a cut on his scalp.

It was determined by officers that the injuries were a result of an altercation that happened in the area of 2500 North 200 West. Detectives interviewed individuals involved in the incident and found out Wicker had actually been struck in the head with an open folding pocket knife.

Wicker had an active no contact order with the other individual involved in the altercation, and was arrested for invasion of privacy.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the incident, which remains under investigation.
