Five People Injured In Two Vehicle Collision

(ELKHART COUNTY) – Five people were injured in a two vehicle collision in Elkhart County.

Sheriff's Department officials say just after 4 PM Monday, a vehicle driven by 58 year old Terry Barrett of Liberty Mills, Indiana, was heading south on State Road 13. As he approached the intersection of County Road 36, Barrett tried to pass a vehicle on the left, driven by 57 year old Sharon Mast of Topeka. Mast turned left and struck the Barrett vehicle.

Mast was not injured in the incident.

Barrett had chest and lower back pain. Four passengers in the Barrett vehicle were injured. 57 year old Debbie Barrett had neck pain; 35 year old Alicia Crabtree of North Manchester had neck and head pain; 10 year old Caden Crabtree of North Manchester had a cut to the head, and 7 year old Alexa Crabtree of North Manchester had nose pain.

Deputies cited Terry Barrett for improper passing causing bodily injury.
