New Route For 2021 SHS Homecoming Parade

(STURGIS) – It's Homecoming Week for Sturgis High School.

And for the first time in many years, there's no rain in the Friday forecast so it looks the Homecoming Parade will happen.

Sturgis High School Principal Nick Herblet says there is a new route for the 2021 Parade. The floats and other entries will start at Wall School on Friday and leave there at 5:30 PM. The parade will go east on Lafayette Street, then south on Lakeview Avenue.

The parade will then go east on Hatch Street to Franks Avenue and then south along Franks Avenue to the parking lot right behind the football field.

This year's Homecoming Theme is Movie Genres. The Senior Class has Horror movies. The Junior Class has Musicals; the Sophomore Class has Chick-Flicks and the Freshman Class has Action movies.

The 2021 Homecoming Queen Candidates are Randi Boland; Ashley Garcia, Emily Herman; Katie McCallum; Nancy Montoya; Katie Strawser; Tina Tran and Hannah Woods.

The 2021 Homecoming King Candidates are Jamiel Brown; Fredy Camacho Alvez; Charlie Frost; Justin Herblet; Max Scheske; Lucas Tollefson; Matt Toner and Matt Wynes.

During half-time of Friday's home football game between Sturgis and Dowagiac, the Homecoming Queen and King will be crowned, and the winner of the class competition will be announced.
