(UNDATED) – Authorities say they have found the body of a missing boater.

Indiana Conservation Officers, with assistance from the Steuben County Sheriff's Department, say at 10:34 AM Thursday, they found the body of 69 year old Duane Bowman III of Howe.

At 9:18 AM Wednesday, a resident of Little Turkey Lake called 911 after discovering an unoccupied boat drifting on the lake. There were personal belongings on the shore and an unoccupied vehicle with a trailer at the Little Turkey Lake public access site.

Conservation Officers arrived and started a search, and were able to identify the boater as Bowman. .

Assisting with Wednesday's search were the LaGrange County Sheriff's Department, the Wolcottville Police Department, LaGrange County Code Enforcement and the Stroh Volunteer Fire Department.

An exact cause of death is pending results of an autopsy.
