(FORT WAYNE) – A security threat closed down a terminal building at Fort Wayne International Airport.

The Transportation Security Administration says they received a low level threat early Friday afternoon of a potential security threat to passenger and airport staff safety. The threat was elevated once additional intelligence was received by TSA personnel, and action was taken between TSA officials and Airport Public Safety.

The terminal building was evacuated mid-afternoon, with passengers instructed to evacuate into the Airport parking areas. Airport staff aided passengers as needed. The Fort Wayne Police Department responded as Mutual Aid assistance. Fort Wayne police investigated the threat and delivered an all clear at 4:15 PM.

Once that announcement was made, flights resumed as normal. The security threat continues to be under investigation.
