Man Found Guilty In 2018 Police Standoff

(ANGOLA) – A man was found guilty of attempted murder of police officers in a 2018 standoff that happened at a Fremont hotel.

A Steuben County Superior Court jury on Thursday found 38 year old Joshua Kelley guilty of attempted murder, along with three counts of using a firearm against a law enforcement officer and of being a habitual offender.

Sentencing is scheduled for October 7. Kelley faces up to 40 years in for the attempted murder charges; 12 years for manufacturing methamphetamine; and 6 years for each possession of meth while in possession of a firearm charge.
