(STURGIS) – Christmas came early for some Sturgis area children.

Wednesday evening the annual Holiday Boots and Shoes Event was held by the Sturgis Kiwanis Club and the Sturgis Elks at the The Sturges-Young Center for the Arts.

The program has Sturgis area children come in for a chance to get some new boots or shoes, see Santa Claus and have a pizza dinner. Natalie Boland of the Sturgis Elks says thanks to the generosity of a Sturgis couple, the kids can get winter coats and other items as well. ...... {LISTEN}.

Sturgis Public Schools gave the names of the children to the two clubs. The Sturgis Kiwanis Club was responsible for the food and the gifts that Santa gave away. The Sturgis Elks handled the boots.

The Sturgis High School Key Club also volunteered at Boots and Shoes, making sure the kids got everything they were supposed to.
