(STURGIS) - The Sturgis Kiwanis Club recently honored the Sturgis High School Key Club February Students of the month.

Leslie Garcia-Quiroz, a senior, has already amassed 29 total college credits through Dual Enrollment and C.T.E. A member of the National Honor Society, she plans on attending Glen Oaks Community College for general studies with a goal of becoming a physician’s assistant.

Gisselle Quiroz-Bucio, a junior, is a member of the National Honor Society and enrolled in Early Middle College studies. Her goal is to become a teacher.

The students were invited to a recent Kiwanis luncheon where they were given a certificate in recognition of their service to Key Club, along with a $5 coffee shop gift card. The Key Club recently volunteered at the Daddy–Daughter Dance, and Inflatable Day at the Doyle Community Center, as well as the Stingray Swim Meet.

Future events in which they will help include: the Sturgis Library’s Dr. Seuss Birthday Party and the Thurston Wood’s Easter Egg Hunt.

Key Club is a student run organization at Sturgis High School that is sponsored by the Sturgis Noon Kiwanis Club. There are presently 87 student members.
