Angola man saved from burning house

ANGOLA – Neighbors and police rescued an Angola man from a burning house on East Gilmore Street Friday morning.

Neighbors Trevor Adams and Dorthy Crocker went into the residence and found John Sutton. They got him to the front door where they were joined by Angola police officers.

Sutton was treated by medics at the scene and then taken to Cameron Memorial Hospital. His condition was not available.

There were heavy fire conditions when firefighters arrived.

Angola firefighters were assisted by units from Fremont, Steuben Township, Hamilton, Auburn and Kendallville.

The State Fire Marshal is assisting in the investigation.

The fire was reported at 8:28 a-m and units cleared the scene at 12:27 p-m.
