Fremont School Board Approves Facility Improvements

(FREMONT) - The Fremont School Board agreed to accept a contract for facility improvements with Emcor on Monday night. Work is scheduled to take place over 110 days and is scheduled to be finished by August 29th. Funding for the $1.1 million project would come from bond sale proceeds. Business Manager Brandon Penrod says the maintenance work will include roofing, lighting renovations and the installation of security cameras. In other business, Fremont Town Superintendent Chris Snyder was told to have a memo of understanding between the town and the school district drawn up concerning the proposed trail that would link Follett Estates with Vistula Park. Snyder told the school board that a five year park master plan was approved on Monday by the Indiana D.N.R.. Architect Carey Vilema also presented plans to the board for the renovation of the high school tennis courts and for improving wireless internet service in the districts buildings.
