(CASSOPOLIS) – Authorities have released the name of the suspect arrested in connection with a weekend stabbing in Vandalia.
The Cass County Sheriff's Department says 32 year old Charles Ray Eubanks Jr., of Cassopolis was arraigned in District Court on charges of assault with attempt to murder and assault with a deadly weapon.
The arrest stems from a stabbing incident that happened just after after 12 AM Sunday. Deputies were called to the 60000 block of Main Street in Vandalia after a 911 call was received regarding a person who had been stabbed.
The victim, 46 year old Mark Perkins of Dowagiac says he got into a verbal altercation with Eubanks, who pulled out a knife and stabbed Perkins twice. Perkins was treated and released at Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital.
Officers later arrested Eubanks. He is being held in the Cass County Jail on a $200,000 bond.
