(HUDSON) - A man from Kendallville was killed while an Orland resident was injured late Saturday night in a one vehicle crash on State Road 4 near Hudson.
Indiana State Police say that according to a preliminary investigation, a 1997 B.M.W. driven by 23 year old Noe Munoz-Rubio of Orland was traveling east on State Road 4 at County Road 11 at about 11:00pm when it went off the road. The vehicle rolled over and struck a tree before it came to a rest on its top.
Munoz-Rubio, who was wearing his seat belt, was trapped and had to be extricated by the Ashley Fire Department. He was taken to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne by Samaritan for head, neck and facial injuries.
A passenger, 24 year old Christopher J. Hatch of Kendallville, was ejected from vehicle as a result of the impact. He was reportedly not wearing his seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene by the DeKalb County Coroner.
The State Police got assistance from the DeKalb and Steuben County Sheriff Departments, Ashley Police and Fire, DeKalb County E.M.S., the DeKalb County Coroners Office and Samaritan.
