(STURGIS) – Some changes have been approved to a mixed used development in downtown Sturgis.
In December 2013, the City Commission approved a development agreement between Inquire Partners and the Sturgis Brownfield Redevelopment Authority for the Moso Village Project. The development would be located on the property north and south of John Street.
Since the approval in December, Sturgis City Manager Mike Hughes says a number of small modifications have been discussed as the project has evolved. One of those, according to Hughes, regards the bidding for public infrastructure improvements.
Other modifications include requiring a commercial appraisal of the taxable value of the project; clarifying after-project responsibility for payment and maintenance of public infrastructure; and amending the amount of tax capture paid to the developer and removal of a reference to reimbursement if Phase II is implemented.
The Commission approved the changes by a unanimous vote.
