Planing underway for A Night To Shine

LAGRANGE – The success of Night to Shine 2017 earned LaGrange First Church of God a $5,000 grant and selection as an official host for the event in 2018.

Tim Tebow’s Night to Shine project is a prom for adults (ages 14 and up) with special needs. It is a worldwide movement to celebrate adults who may never have attended a formal dance or prom.

In 2016, nearly 100 guests and at least 150 buddies and volunteers celebrated at the Farmstead Expo Barn in Shipshewana with dancing and refreshments.

The next Night to Shine will be February 9 again at the Expo Barn. Pastor Ben Stuckey says the $5,000 grant is “seed money” for the project.

In the coming months, the church will reach out to potential partners and shareholders who want to contribute or volunteer at the event.

Registration for Night to Shine will begin the week after Thanksgiving.
