Area golfers qualify for D-3 State Finals

(MARSHALL) – One area team and one solo golfer from the area have qualified for the Division 3 State Finals, following their performance at the Regional Tournament at Marshall. Dowagiac won the Regional Team Championship with a score of 347. They will advance to the State Finals along with Olivet (360) who was second and Hillsdale (364) who came in third. Quincy finished fourth (372) and were led by Sam Sawyer with a round of 84. He was the top individual scorer and moves on to the D-3 Finals. Jonesville was 6th (385) Schoolcraft was 7th (389), Union City and Watervliet tied for 8th (402) and Constantine was 16th. Bronson did not have enough golfers to qualify as a team, and were led by Nicholas Cranson with a 103. Jack VanDam had the low round for Schoolcraft with a 94. Union City’s Logan Mears shot a 95 and Constantine was led by Logan Patmalnieks with a 99. Jonesville’s Zachary Mains carded an 85 and will be heading to the State Finals as an individual.
