(STURGIS) - In their first game since December 23, the Sturgis girls basketball team came out hot, slowed down in the middle quarters and then picked it up again in the final stanza to beat Kalamazoo Christian 57-45. Coach Andy Phillips says it was a great team win for the Lady Trojans who defended, got to the foul line and were relentless with their physicality down the stretch. Sydney Bir led Sturgis with 14 points. Kinder Smith added 11 points and Cora Phillips had 10 points helping Sturgis improve to 6-1 on the season.
