(GRANT COUNTY) - The Indiana State Police is reminding drivers to slow down and move over after a semi-truck struck a patrol vehicle early Monday morning on Interstate 69 in Grant County.

State police say the trooper's vehicle was parked at the scene of a separate crash with emergency lights activated when it was hit by the semi. No injuries were reported.

The incident occurred in the Peru District, where troopers say crashes involving vehicles striking stopped emergency responders remain a serious concern.

Indiana State Police officials emphasized that these incidents are preventable and urged motorists to remain alert, slow down, and move over when approaching emergency scenes on the roadway.

Police say collisions like this put officers and other first responders at significant risk while working along highways and interstates.
