(PLEASANT TOWNSHIP) - A Sturgis man was injured in a three vehicle accident in Northeast Indiana.

Steuben County Chief Deputy Sheriff Michael Meeks says deputies were called out just before 6 PM Saturday for a crash that happened on U.S. 20 near Silver Lake in Pleasant Township. When they arrived, the deputies found that it was a three vehicle accident with two of the drivers trapped in their vehicles.

The investigation determined that a Jeep Cherokee driven by 17 year old Landen Lane-Granger of Angola was driving west on U.S. 20 approaching County Road 370 West when the vehicle went left of the center line into the path of an eastbound car driven by 28 year old Jaci Miller of Jones, Michigan and the vehicles collided head on.

Miller's auto was pushed into the path of a westbound SUV, driven by 46 year old James Isfalt of Sturgis and the vehicles collided. Isfalt's vehicle went off the road and overturned.

Once Miller and Isfalt were freed from their vehicles they were treated at the scene and transported to Parkview Regional Medical Center. Isfalt had severe trauma to his lower leg and Miller had pain all over. Lane-Granger was treated at the scene and taken to Cameron Health with a possible broken leg.

Seatbelts were worn by all three drivers and airbags did activate.

Assisting at the scene were the Angola Police and Fire Departments, the Steuben County FACT Team and the Indiana State Police.
