(CENTREVILLE) - The search is beginning to find the next Superintendent for the St. Joseph County Intermediate School District.
During this week's Board of Education meeting, ISD Superintendent Dr. Teresa Belote announced that she was retiring.
Belote spoke with Swick Broadcasting as says this is the right time for her retire. Belote says this has been a good year and she has set some things in motion along with having a list of tasks she wanted to accomplish to make sure the ISD is in good shape for the next leader.
Belote says she's been reflecting on her career, and says she is proud of the progress made with the Career and Technical Education program. She's happy to see the increased number of students that are able to have access to quality programs and get high paying jobs at the end of their training. Belote says she's glad that they are meeting the needs of the community. (LISTEN ABOVE).
Belote will have been in education for just over 32 years when she retires, the last 9.5 years as the ISD Superintendent. She will retire June 30, 2026 to help with the transition of the new Superintendent.
