(STURGIS) - Incumbent Michigan State Representative Steve Carra is seeking a fourth two year term in Lansing.

Carra, a Republican from Three Rivers, made the official announcement Saturday evening during an event in Sturgis. Speaking with Swick Broadcasting, Carra says it's been an honor to represent the patriots of St. Joseph and Cass Counties. He says it's his understanding the people want a vocal and strong leader in Lansing that won't be a Yes man for special interests. He says they want a bold, conservative fighter. Carra says he believes the radical Left is destroying the country and he will stand up against that and stand up for freedom. (LISTEN ABOVE).

Carra is currently serving his third two year term.

Also running for the Republican nomination to represent the 36th District are Max Coon and Luke Lori.

Michigan's Primary Election is August 4.
