(PARK TOWNSHIP) - A one vehicle crash claimed the lives of two men.
St. Joseph County Sheriff Chad Spence says just after 12 AM Saturday deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Parkville Road and Mint Road in Park Township for a motor vehicle crash.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a pick up driven by a 27 year old Kalamazoo man was traveling north on Parkville Road when it failed to negotiate a curve at Mint Road and struck a tree.
Two passengers in the truck, a 29 year old man and a 27 year old man, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver sustained serious injuries and was flown to Bronson Methodist Hospital to receive treatment.
Alcohol and speed appear to be contributing factors in the crash which is still under investigation.
