(COLDWATER) - A Branch County 911 dispatcher is a hero for her quick thinking and great decision in warning people prior to last Friday's tornado.

The Hillsdale County Scanner Page on Facebook is correctly shining a spotlight Dispatcher Jenni Foust. She activated the Branch County tornado sirens after receiving reports of a tornado on the ground near Three Rivers.

Officials say Faust tracked the storm's movement with the help of Michigan StormChasers, and sounded additional sirens for Sherwood, Union City and the Union Lake area while also warning deputies and officers who were in the storm's path.

Supporters say the quick actions likely gave residents extra time to seek shelter before the tornado arrived around Union Lake and Union City.
