Indiana Unemployment Unchanged From February To March

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indiana's statewide unemployment rate was unchanged from February to March, remaining at 3.3%.

The Indiana Department of Workforce Development says the State's labor force participation rate was 63.3% for March, compared to the national rate of 61.9%. This is the percentage of Hoosiers 16 and older that are either working or actively looking for work.

Indiana's total labor force is at 3,493,123. In addition, the March total private employment is 2,839,2999, which is an increase of 5,400 since February.

Industries that experienced job increases during March include: Manufacturing (+2,000); Leisure & Hospitality (+1,900); Trade, Transportation & Utilities (+900), Financial Activities (+700), and Private Educational & Health Services (+100).
