(STURGIS) - Sturgis Public Schools is starting to look at what steps to take if they want to re-introduce a millage request to the public.

Monday night, Sturgis Superintendent Dr. Art Ebert shared with the Board of Education that he has reached out to two companies to get information on how they would recommend Sturgis Schools move forward in bringing a millage request to the voters.

Ebert shares what the first company is EPIC-MRA. They would do a phone calling campaign, calling people at home and ask them what they would and would not support.

Ebert says the second company, Perspectives, works with schools like Sturgis where a proposal didn't pass. Their plan would be to create an online survey and determine what different proposals people may support.

A representative of Perspectives shared with the Board that once the survey is finished they would take the information and share it with school leadership.

The Board will be asked to choose which company they want to work with during their June 15 meeting.
