(LAGRANGE COUNTY) - A Chicago man is behind bars after a chase on the Indiana Toll Road.
Indiana State Police say at 6:40 PM Saturday, Trooper John Levitz was notified by another trooper that saw a Dodge pickup speeding east on the Toll Road near Mile Marker 90, with the truck allegedly driving 104 MPH.
Levitz drove west to attempt to intercept the pickup with his lights and siren on and a few minutes later caught up to the truck at Mile Marker 117 in LaGrange County. The pickup continued driving aggressively from lane to lane, passing other vehicles until it came to a stop on the right shoulder of the highway near Mile Marker 121.
The pickup driver, 28 year old Justyn Thomas of Chicago, was taken into custody on felony charges of resisting law enforcement and neglect of a dependent, along with a misdemeanor charge of reckless driving. He is being held in the LaGrange County Jail.
Troopers also found that the pickup was occupied by a woman along with an 8 year old child and a 2 year old child. They were all released from the scene.
