(LANSING) - Voters decided in Tuesday's Primary Election who will run for office in November.
There were three candidates seeking the Republican nomination for the 36th District seat in the Michigan House of Representatives. Incumbent State Representative Steve Carra won with 5,945 (58.48%) votes. Luke Lori finished second with 3,577 (35.19%) votes and Max Coon came in third with 643 votes (6.33%).
Carra will take on Cole Slaski in the November General Election. Slaski ran unopposed for the Democratic nomination and received 5,856 votes.
In the 35th District State Representative race, Republican Incumbent Jennifer Wortz ran unopposed and received 9,403 votes. She will face Democratic challenger Jeff Cooley who also ran unopposed with 5,030 votes.
In the race for the Democratic nomination to run for the 17th Michigan Senate District, Ashleigh Baker won by receiving 11,041 (55.3%) votes. Brett Muchow came in second with 5,101 (25.5%) votes while Mike D. Jones came in third with 3,822 (19.14%) votes.
Baker will face Republican incumbent State Senator Jonathan Lindsey, who ran unopposed and collected 26,402 votes.
Running unopposed in the Republican nomination for the 5th District seat in the U.S. House of Representatives is incumbent Tim Walberg. He will face Christian Vukasovich, who ran unopposed for the Democratic nomination with 59,941 votes.
Mike Rogers ran unopposed for the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate seat for Michigan. Rogers will face off against Abdul El-Sayed, who won the Democratic nomination over Haley Stevens.
